San Diego State does not have a lot going for them making a trip on the road. This is not the same Aztecs teams that came with a top tier defense. They rank 118th in ypp defense, and 126th success rate defense. Then you look at their offense and it is very much a struggle bus ranking 99th in ypp, 103rd in ypc, 85th in sack % allowed, and they have to go on the road to face Colorado State who ranks 34th sack %. Colorado State’s defensive strength is against the run where they rank in the 60’s, while SD State on paper does not figure to want or have the ability to attack the weakness for Colorado State.
Colorado State at 2-6 is deparate for a win, and they are much better than that record would indicate in my opinion. This is a team that was competitive against Air Force and Wyoming when you look at the numbers. They took Colorado to double OT, played right with a very good UNLV team, and beat Boise State. This is a bit step down going up against San Diego State at 3-6.
